Luke's Ti Synpase Replacement

Luke's Ti Synpase Replacement

I bought my frame from Justin in June 2013 and it has become the best bike that I have ever owned. I started looking for a replacement for my Cannondale Synapse Carbon when I realised that it wasn’t up to year round use and that it was looking decidedly second hand. My research led me to believe that a Titanium Audax bike would provide the ideal replacement. Further searching led me to Justin and my bike was born.

Justin designed a frame based on the geometry of my Cannondale with a few changes to improve my comfort on the bike. Justin was able to provide excellent advice on tube shapes and sizes that helped make my frame attractive as well as functional. The design was quickly dispatched to the frame builders and delivered within three weeks. Justin also suggested a suitable fork and fitted a Chris King headset to the frame before delivery.

The bike was originally built up with a Campagnolo Centaur group set and Khamsin CX wheels to provide reliable and durable components for year round cycling. Justin is a fan of Campagnolo and I had become disillusioned with the shimano components on my Cannondale, so I chose to make the change to Italy’s finest. At first, I thought that I had made a mistake, but after a few miles I was converted and have not looked back. When I had the opportunity to upgrade the group set again, I chose to go for Chorus with Zonda Wheels. This was a complete step change in terms of quality and performance, so now I’m completely hooked on Campagnolo! The old Centaur group set and Khamsin wheels have even been retro-fitted to my Cannondale.

To ride, the bike is everything that I wanted it to be. Over the last 9000 miles it has been as fast and comfortable as I have needed it to be for my type of riding. I have completed a couple of longer Audax events and ride regularly year round with no problems.

Recently, I had to make warranty claim on the frame which Justin dealt with in a thoroughly professional and mature way. My frame was repaired and returned without question while the repair remains undetectable. While my frame was being repaired I looked at the warranties offered by other frame builders and manufacturers. Only the big companies offer life time warranties, with most offering only one or two years. So, Justin’s four year warranty offers good peace of mind.

I have never met Justin or even spoken to him on the phone; all our correspondence has been via email. I have found him to be helpful, honest and easy to deal with at all times. I would recommend that anyone looking for a bespoke frame speak to Justin first; he is one of the best.
