Bruce's Steel Stunner

Bruce's Steel Stunner

Justin, I just wanted to send you some pics and a report from getting out and about on the bike. I literally built it up the night before we left for Spain and never even rode it before setting off on holiday. It has now done nearly 400 miles in the Pyrenees and Pays Basque!

The ride is great. So nice to be immediately comfortable having used my familiar geometry. Built up with a mix of old bits and bobs that are not especially light or racy I'm surprised how lively and quick it feels. It's almost a shame it's going to be laden further with mudguards now. However, the main pleasure is that lovely silky ride. I'd not really describe it as 'springy' but more 'forgiving' without ever really feeling flexy or in any way 'loose'. This makes it really good downhill on a broken surface when it never feels bouncy or upset by the bumps.
